Wrought iron and Hitachi White #1 Sanmai by Brook Turner from Sydney, Australia. Full time radiographer, and part time knife maker. Brook has worked with a variety of steels and materials to create many different blade profiles in different constructions. The quality of his work would suggest that he has been forging and grinding knives full time for many years. An accomplished bladesmith and woodworker with a great eye for aesthetics.
A classic forged scale wide bevel Gyuto. This one has tall bevels and a blended in ridge, making it behave more similarly to a full convex blade, rather than a typical shinogi ground blade. A slightly forward leaning midweight with a smooth and authoritative cutting feel. The bevels have a simple loose abrasive finish that will take a fast and even patina. This Gyuto has been paired with an especially gorgeous piece of Cocobolo.
