Forged 52100 by Brook Turner from Sydney, Australia. Full time radiographer, and part time knife maker. Brook has worked with a variety of steels and materials to create many different blade profiles in different constructions. The quality of his work would suggest that he has been forging and grinding knives full time for many years. An accomplished bladesmith and woodworker with a great eye for aesthetics.
This Gyuto has been forged fairly thin, with a gentle distal taper for a thin tip area while still retaining a good degree of stiffness. Convex ground bevels down to a thin edge. It has a slightly meatier geometry in the mid section than the other mono 52100 blades I have received from Brook. Clean satin finished bevels give contrast to Brook's lovely forged finish. A Gyuto designed to be a daily workhorse.
