Wrought iron cladding and 26c3 Sanmai by Brook Turner from Sydney, Australia. Full time radiographer, and part time knife maker. Brook has worked with a variety of steels and materials to create many different blade profiles in different constructions. The quality of his work would suggest that he has been forging and grinding knives full time for many years. An accomplished bladesmith and woodworker with a great eye for aesthetics.
This gyuto features a flatter profile and a more workhorse style geometry in the mid section compared to Brook's usual. It has great release and is capable of doing it all, but excelling at push cutting in particular. Forged with a very clean batch of wrought iron that suits a finish with a dark iron tint. Paired with an especially fancy piece of Tasmanian blackwood.
26c3 is a very fine grained steel with excellent all round performance.
