Toshihiro Wakui is a talented blacksmith based in Sanjo, Niigata, Japan. Although he is from a blacksmithing family, he honed his knife making craft during the 4 years he spent working with Yoshikane Hamono. Despite his relatively young age he has earned his reputation through the incredible performance of his knives.
Wakui's knives typically have good distal taper complemented by an excellent grind, and this Kurouchi Nashiji gyuto is no exception. The final product is a knife that is well balanced and nicely finished at a great price.
